Premier Waste Achieves ISO Accreditation

It’s Official – Premier Waste Recycling is a Quality Outfit!

Our clients spoke and we responded. Up until this month Premier Waste Recycling Ltd (PWR) has been operating according to the quality certification held by its parent company, HW Martin Waste Ltd. This ensured that a quality management system pervaded all activities across the companies and to a very high standard.

From mid-July that same high standard has been recognised specifically for PWR and its operations in Yorkshire and the North East. Accredited certification body Intertek put PWR through several weeks of gruelling audits and assessments before confidently awarding the company with its own Certificate against the international standard for quality management systems – ISO 9001:2008.

ISO 9001 evolved from British Standard 5750 and the early stages of the development of a formal and coherent approach to organisational quality management in the 1980s. Over the decades its scope has been extended and its exacting requirements have been intensified until we reach the demanding ISO 9001 standard of today.

The ISO 9001:2008 Certificate enables PWR to respond directly to contract terms specifying a quality management system. This means that client organisations will find it easier to evaluate and approve the work of PWR and reduce their administrative overheads.

Mark Faulconbridge, Operations Director, said of the certification: “This was an important investment for us, not just financially but also a lot of time has been spent by key members of staff to make sure we were successful. Getting certification is a great achievement for the company and a good result for the team. It’s another example of how we are constantly moving forwards to provide the best service in the industry.”

The Certificate runs for three years from 15th July 2014 and is downloadable from our license and accreditation certificates page.
