Premier Waste Recycling Secures BSIA Certification

In July last year Premier Waste Recycling (PWR) was officially recognised for the quality of its service with certification against the international quality standard ISO 9001:2008. Barely six months later and it has done it again! This time the company has achieved recognition for its confidential waste management service by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA).

BSIA is the official trade association for the private security industry in the UK. It has a rigorous membership process and has been the seal of approval in the security industry for over 40 years.

PWR was admitted to the BSIA’s Information Destruction Section for its management of confidential waste. This means that when PWR’s clients in the public and private sectors entrust it with their secure waste they know it will be handled with care and destroyed appropriately. Phil Darwin at PWR elaborated: “Confidential waste needs to be treated with care. The loss of confidential data can destroy a company’s reputation or leak valuable company information to your competitors. Choosing a waste management company you can trust isn’t an option, but a necessity.”

At the company’s base near Durham, PWR operates its special facility where confidential waste is managed. The facility has restricted access, is secured with electronically locked doors and houses equipment that mechanically destroys the waste to a completely unrecognisable state. In the case of paper waste, this is then sent to be pulped and recycled into new paper products. So as well as having their secure waste professionally managed, clients can still make sure it contributes to their recycling targets and environmental objectives.

Mark Faulconbridge, Director at PWR, commented: “BSIA certification adds another layer of confidence to what existing customers already know is a high quality service and I hope many new customers will see it too. It is a well-deserved pat on the back for the confidential waste team at PWR.”

The PWR BSIA Certificate runs from 17th December 2014 and is downloadable from our license and accreditation certificates page.
