Premier Waste Recycling Goes National

National Resource Consortium logoPremier Waste Recycling Ltd (PWR) is pleased to announce that it is a founding member of a new national waste partnership – the National Resource Consortium (NRC). Formed by 12 of the UK’s foremost regional waste and recycling companies, the NRC presents a national approach to large, multi-location clients who want the high quality and service that the member companies provide.

The NRC will take effect from 1st May 2016, giving 98% of the UK a co-ordinated resource of waste and recycling collections fleets, dozens of Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs) and access to the full recyclable commodity markets and waste diversion outlets.

PWR and parent company HW Martin Waste Ltd have been involved in the consortium since discussions began in mid-2015. Each member company has an agreed operating area and PWR’s focus will be on Tyne and Wear, Teesside and Sheffield. These are areas where PWR is already a significant provider of waste and recycling services to small and medium sized companies, as well as colleges, universities, healthcare trusts and other organisations in the public sector.

The NRC will enable PWR to deliver waste and recycling services to major corporations in the UK, such as large retail companies, manufacturing companies, road, rail, aviation and government agencies.

Phil Darwin, PWR General Manager, commented on the launch of the NRC: “National companies need national coverage and they want it from one supplier, the NRC gives them that. It opens up the national market to regional suppliers and this is good for customers and suppliers alike.”
