Premier Waste Recycling Supports the Heart of the Community

Premier Waste Recycling Ltd (PWR) has a continuous programme of community support. A recent example of this was seen at West Auckland Town Football Club, where PWR joined others in donating a defibrillator.

West Auckland football club is based in County Durham and plays in the Ebac Northern Division 1. It is one of a growing number of football clubs responding to the need for special life-saving equipment to be provided at their grounds. Reports of players collapsing and suffering sudden and sometimes fatal trauma are not uncommon within the sport. To reduce the risk of further tragedy the provision of defibrillators can mean the difference between life and death in the first crucial minutes of an emergency.

The installation of the £1,500 defibrillator and secure cabinet at West Auckland FC has been made possible by support from PWR alongside the FA and the British Heart Foundation.

PWR is based in Durham and Leeds and provides recycling and waste management services to councils and businesses across Yorkshire and the north-east of England. Phil Darwin, PWR’s General Manager, commented: “When the club approached us for support we were delighted to help with such an important issue. It illustrates how PWR is not just a company, it is a part of the communities in which it operates and like everyone we have a responsibility towards the well-being of those communities. We wish the club well as the season progresses.”
